About the Role
• Weekend and evening direct care Teaching-Parent in a therapeutic group home for at-risk boys with emotional, behavioral and developmental issues
• Trauma informed programing includes teaching social skills, coping skills, a motivational system, family style living and instruction of independent living skills
• Teaching-parents teach, supervise and develop relationships with youth ages 8-20 in a community based program. Must be self motivated, able to accept feedback, good at relationship development, write reports, operate a computer, have a valid drivers license and pass background checks
• Experience needed with population that includes: DD, PTSD, RAD, Bi-polar, ODD, ADHD etc.
• Youth may be aggressive--appropriate training is provided
• Teaching-parents plan and supervise family outings, prepare family style meals, take kids to church, and supervise family visits with youth
• Christian program that emphasizes family values and principles
• Related Education and/or experience preferred
• must be 21 or older
• state licensing does not allow smoking in presence of youth, company policy does not allow smoking on the property
• overnight sleep shifts available for a per diem
